What is EFT?

EFT, or emotional freedom techniques, is a new and exciting tool for self help, easy to learn and easy to use. EFT is a form of psychological acupressure that uses a gentle tapping technique instead of needles to stimulate traditional Chinese acupuncture points. Tapping on the designated points on the face and body allows you to balance your energy system and deals with negative feelings at their source, neutralizing the negativity and removing the emotional charge associated with them.

EFT is also effective for relief of physical pain. We've all suffered from aches and pains of one kind or another and EFT relieves the pain while allowing the body and mind to resume their natural healing abilities.

Medical practitioners are becoming more aware of the mind-body connection and the way in which stress, anger or other negative emotions effects our body. We all know that when we become extremely stressed we can feel the stress in our bodies. Prolonged stress causes a decrease in immune system functioning, changes in brain flow, and our body tells us with symptoms that we need to change something. EFT allows us make those changes.

How Can EFT Help?

EFT can help with all kinds of physical symptoms. Stiff neck? Tap it away. Aching back? Tap it away. Aches, pains, allergy symptoms, headaches, sore throats and on and on. All can be addressed with EFT.

Issues such as anxiety, phobias, smoking, weight loss and more can be handled with great success by EFT. Instead of treating symptoms, EFT gets to the root of the problem, and by clearing that, eliminates the problem.

Ask yourself what is keeping your life from being the best that it can be. Whether the answer is job stress, fear of public speaking or flying, inability to move on from a relationship gone bad, painful memories of past times, grief over a lost loved one or any issue that causes you emotional pain, EFT can improve your quality of life.

In order to use EFT effectively, one must focus on the issue at hand while tapping. For example, you woke up with a stiff neck this morning. Before starting to tap, assess the problem. On a scale of zero to ten, with ten being the most intense and zero being no intensity at all, give a number to your level of intensity.
Then, while focusing mentally on your stiff neck, you will tap various acupressure points while repeating words provided by your EFT practitioner or that you have come up with yourself.

After several rounds (tapping from the top point to the bottom point) you will be asked to focus on the specific issue again and see how much intensity you have regarding it. Often the intensity will have dropped, or even disappeared after just a round or two. If there is any remaining intensity, the process is repeated.
